Catalogue text

This powerful work, Coloured Abundance, illustrates marvelous dotwork of dramatic and liberated form representing an aerial view of the topography of Emily's country, Alhalkere. The fall of country collects the water that feeds the Alhalkere soakage and surrounds, the blue of which acted as a compositional anchor.

This radiant composition not only distinguishes between the ripe and not so ripe fruits of this place, but the all-important green patches where the Atnulare Yam covers the earth, its flower-head, Kame, plump with the seed that fattens the Emu.
