2026 April auction for Important Australian Indigenous Art
Attracting a wide audience of passionate collectors, this eagerly awaited instalment of D+H’s flagship Indigenous art auction achieved the outstanding total of $4,670,000 (inc. BP and GST) with many works notably exceeding their auction estimates – resulting in the elevated clearance rates of 120% by value and 88% by volume.
Continuing its commitment to offering outstanding examples of important Australian and International art, Deutscher and Hackett’s final live auction for the year achieved the highest November auction round total of $11.2 million (inc. BP + GST) – thus confirming the firm’s 2025 market leadership with its annual auction sales totalling over $40 million.
Howard Arkley’s joyous kitsch wonderland, Neapolitan delight, 1993 (est: $1,000,000 – 1,500,000) sold for $2,500,000 (inc. BP + GST) – not only a new auction record for the artist, but the highest price for a work of art sold at auction in Australia in 2025, continuing D+H’s record of achieving the highest price annually for the past four years.
