Catalogue text

This painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Ikuntji Art Centre which states: 'This work is the story of Alice's personal Tjukurrpa (law)- the Porcupine. The setting is the rockholes in and around the swamp of Talaalpi in Western Australia. The porcupine is scurring around sticking her head in the various holes looking for its meal. Meanwhile tracking behind it are women out hunting, hoping to make the porcupine their tucker for the evening.'
