Catalogue text
During the 1880's an Aboriginal camp was established at La Perouse. A tourist market was established later where it was possible to purchase artefacts and watch displays of boomerang throwing. The engraved designs of fauna and flora on the smaller boomerang included in this lot are typical of the decoration applied to shields, boomerangs and other artefacts that were available for the visiting tourists to purchase
