Catalogue text

This painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Papunya Tula Artists Pty Ltd, Alice Springs which reads in part 'This painting depicts the Venemous Snake Dreaming from the soakage water site of Nyinmi, east of Jupiter Well. The snake passed through Wilkinkarra (Lake Mackay) travelling underground and resurfaced east of Nyinmi. At Nyinmi it was killed by a woman and eaten by her two children. However it reformed and kept travelling west. This mythology forms part of the Tingari Cycle. Since events of the Tingari Cycle are of a secret nature no further detail was given.'
