Appraisals

Deutscher and Hackett offers complimentary art appraisals and advice on selling works of art at auction and through private sales. We provide expertise and extensive market knowledge of Australian and International Fine art, Australian Indigenous and Oceanic art across all mediums.

Every written auction proposal presented by Deutscher and Hackett is transparent, unique and considered. Works of art are carefully researched and our recommended auction estimates take into account prices paid for comparable material at auction over past recent years. In the case of higher value works we typically include information regarding Deutscher and Hackett’s past performance with each of these artists.

Consideration is given to the auction timing and venue location as well as the presentation of each item in the printed catalogue. Our marketing strategy is clearly explained together with selling commission rates and associated costs. All logistical aspects are taken into consideration with transport, insurance and storage needs addressed.

Please submit your art for appraisal using the form below. Aternatively please email: info@deutscherandhackett.com or contact us to speak with an art specialist.

VALUATIONS

Deutscher and Hackett offer both auction appraisal and more formal art valuation services.

Our valuation services cover a wide range of needs such as insurance, market, family division, probate and superannuation fund valuations. We also value art on a regular basis for the Cultural Gifts Program, offering tax incentives for donations to registered public institutions.

Our valuation fees vary according to the category as well as the time required for completion. Fees may be reimbursed if the works of art valued are subsequently sold with Deutscher and Hackett. There are no fees for auction appraisals and accompanying proposals.

Please contact us to discuss valuation services with an art specialist.
