Catalogue text

This painting is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Warlayirti Artists that states: ‘Nancy has painted some of her traditional country located a little south of Balgo, in the Great Sandy Desert. This country is named Yarlarya. Yarlarya is an inta or ‘living water’ place, because it always contains reliable drinking water, found in a large rockhole, in a country that is otherwise dominated by tali, or sand dunes. Yarlarya is Nancy’s father’s country, and was used by large family groups for camping and hunting.’
